Is it safe to buy Android batteries off of eBay?

Seidio has the best reviews I have seen. Batteries bought on Ebay can be very hit and miss where quality is concerned, so read the seller's feeback thoroughly.

If you check on Amazon, you can get OEM batteries for a cheap price, Just bought an OEM Droid Incredible battery for $8.65 - free shipping.

I have bought 4 batteries from ebay for my Evo, and generally the quality is equivalent to the picture, i.e. if you see one that looks like it is made out of cardboard and will fall apart, it will (but it still works until then), like the first 2 I bought, they lasted around 4 months. If it looks solid, it generally is (the last 2 I bought have lasted ~5 monthe, and the letters on the front are just starting to fade.

I wanted to buy these off of eBay: 2x 1600mAh Backup Battery+AC Charger 4 HTC Inspire 4g - eBay (item 180635277731 end time Apr-03-11 21:28:24 PDT)

Would it be safe to buy Non-OEM batteries? I don't want my phone to explode or anything. Are they regulated?

Also, can someone recommend some Non-OEM batteries that are decent brands?

I bought 2 batteries and charger for $19.99. It was a power seller with 99.9 positive feedback. So far so good with these batteries.

E-bay sellers treasure their reputation, so chances are good that you get a good product.

On the other hand, there is hardly any other product as risky as smartphone batteries.

I would be looking for a Seidio or Mugen product in the first place. Only if those are not available, I would start looking for anything unnamed.
