I broke the screen on my Nexus 6 the other day and because I needed a phone in a hurry I picked up a Moto X Pure. My Nexus was about a year old and worked great and even after I broke the screen and it is still working but the screen is black. I did a remote wipe on it but now I am debating if its worth fixing for $175.00 even if I just use it as a back up. Is it worth fixing with new replacement phones being so inexpensive?

The Nexus 6 is a good phone - great screen, front facing speakers, good hardware etc. I don't have the Moto X Pure, so I'm not sure if it is better than the N6.
For $175 however, I don't think it is worth repairing it - you can get a good used N6 for close to that price.
If you are reasonably good with hardware, you may want to try to replace the screen/digitizer yourself (I've not done it on my N6, so I'm not sure how complicated it is - I have done it for other phones - not too hard)

Not worth repairing. Google has ceased supporting the device.
dont get me wrong i love the build quality of the moto nex 6. its STILL my main device. i skipped the 6p because its build quality was sub par compared to the moto version and it didnt offer anything worth upgrading to .
yeah if you can find a parts model for a little cash, sure attempt the fix yourself.

Past version 7 there will no longer be updates to the OS for the N6 ... there will be security updates for a while longer I presume but after 7.1.1 there will likely be no further OS updates. Most consider this to be "no longer supported". That said, once the "official" updates end there will still be custom ROMs based on the latest OS as well as security patches. So ...meh.
It get's the same support any other out-of-warranty phone would get if you have the stock OS, meaning pretty much worthless scripted Google platitudes ... and us. We're much better in terms of getting to the heart of the matter, anyway.
As far as the op is concerned, if you need the whole LCD assembly, the part alone is ~$150.00 I'm not sure, as much as I love this phone, that I'd spend that kind of money on fixing a phone that can be replaced with a used N6 for ~$170.00 - $180.00 on swappa.
