Is it worth it to root your phone?

Been thinking about having a go at it for a few days now, mainly so I can use my ps 3 controller via blue tooth.

Some benefits include flashing custom roms and kernel which will enhance performance of the phone. Also, if you are into gaming like myself, having a rooted device will enable you to connect to a controller wirelessly and play all your games with the controller with the help from the Sixaxis app to map the buttons properly.
 
How do you flash custom ROMS and where do you get them from? Also every time you flash a custom rom does it delete all your old information and old rom?
 
well you will get more response to Teh question... sorry THE question if you write properly yes there are releases for the S3 Jelly bean and yes to rooting it
