Help Is my phone bricked?

Lurker
I got home from work yesterday and I took my phone out of my pocket to find that it was off. I tried to turn it on and it wouldn't. I had just charged that battery while I was at work so I started getting frustrated with it. I took the battery out and put it back in and it would turn on, but never get past that initial G1 image.

If I take the SIM card out, it will boot all the way up, stay on for a few minutes, then freeze and turn off.

I tried to do a reset where you clean off everything back to factory settings. It wouldn't stay on long enough for it to complete.

Do I have to take this phone back to T-Mobile and get a new one?

try doing a hard reset.

1. power off
2. hold home and power
3. open the keyboard and press alt-l
4. then alt-w to wipe data/factory reset.

i would think that the battery is dead somehow and not accepting charge. it would be worth trying with another battery, or maybe when connected to the charger
