Help Is my phone faulty? Battery problem and data issue

Hi all, this is my 1st post so go easy on me. I have had the s7 since it came out and have had two issues with it; these are with the battery and data use.
The battery issue is that the phone drains way too quickly, when doing nothing. I have tried formatting it to default settings and have turned off all backup methods. I have also turned off location services but it just does not last the day.
Now the 2nd issue relates to data use. The phone has destroyed the entirity of my monthly data for no reason. I have attached a screenshot of the s7s data use, which you will see this strange occurance on.
Is it worth sending it back to my contract provider to ask them to repair it?

Cheers,
Ben

Ps: sorry if its in the wrong section!

By the looks of things, some app was consuming a lot of data in a very short time at the end of the month. If you dig down into the data menu, it should indicate which app or service it was. The excessive battery drain could be related to it. Are you using the Facebook app?

Thanks for your reply. No, i have the facebook app disabled on this phone as it came preinstalled. It says that internet has used 200mb which is normal. But android os has used 2.8 gb! See attached

I just looked on my phone because I had an an update in mid November and there was a little bump, but nothing like that. But as another poster said, you can break out the details of this by digging down in "by application" section.
