Help Is my phone using data for wi fi?

I am using wifi and when I look at the data, it shows my phone has been using data for wi fi?

Mobile data and WiFi are different things. The phone has an option to display WiFi usage as well as data (which I turn off as it's irrelevant), but that doesn't mean that your WiFi use is being counted against your mobile data budget.

"Mobile" is your "data usage".
