Help Is Sprint Any Good?

anubis2048

I am currently a MetroPCS customer but my area seems to have really good Sprint coverage.(I don't know about speeds though)

Is Sprint any good? What data speeds could I expect at full signal? Do they crack down on tethering or do they just tell you not to do it?

Hope you guys can help me out. My current download speeds with Metro are in the 20MB/PS range so I'm hoping I could either improve that or keep it the same with Sprint.

I'm in Central Virginia, and we've just (in the past 6 months or so) gotten 4G speeds. I've got to say the service is the best I've had with them, and I've been with Sprint over 10 years.

I've been in Sprint for years. (+10 years) Recently, (the last year or so), their service has improved dramatically...

Used to have to use an airave to get service in my house... As of 6-8 months ago I haven't needed it... Sent it back about 3 months ago.

Yeah, -much- better.

I might be getting a Sprint device soon. I have heard nothing but bad things about Sprint, but then I also hear that they are doing better now..
I have already conducted tests with Verizon, T-Mobile, and MetroPCS and I plan on adding Sprint to the list so I can make a thread talking about the truth when it comes to MVNO's and big name carriers.
And Kate, there are no test results for my area. Guess I will have to find out myself.

With T-Mobile/MetroPCS I average 15 down and 15 up. Verizon was the same. There are times where I can get 30 down with MetroPCS, but it does not happen often.
What are the speeds you guys get on Sprint with good signal?

Here's my speed here inside my house. It's raining here in Central Virginia, but download speed is pretty good. Upload is usually better.

every provider has good and bad areas... even Verizon.
so location is very important....

I dropped Sprint a few years ago... because they sucked in my area....
after over 10yrs with them.. their service continued to get worse .. because they kept making wrong decisions on network deployment.
they were not able to keep up with the others.

i have heard their service has finally started to get batter...
but you should look for other users in your area.. home and work and play areas.

This is so true. Where are you located? Maybe we can get others who are in your area to comment?
