Is Sprint being left behind?

Hahaha nobody has commented on my numbering system?

Newayz.....

1) could you post up some links for us to price plans and phones for LTE vs. WiMax? (I would be very curious to see this)

b) how much does sprint charge for roaming data? Just wondering, as my sprint rep (which is like a used car salesman) told me roaming voice and data was free.

1) i dont know of any phones yet just there internet cards for wimax

b) i will have too look at my sprint bills when i get home tonight. yes i have sprint i get a better discount from work with them then i do with verizon but will be switching to verizon in the upcoming months just because i dont have the coverage as verizon in my area (talk/data)

With a similar phone (hero/droid) the best I can do is like $89.9

To compare dollars to dollars you have to configure the Verizon plan like the Sprint everything 450 plan.

Both Sprint and Verizon are $69.99 for essentially the same package that I am looking at. Where do you get the 30% more?

Sprint Everything Data plan 450 minutes + Unlimited Data = $ 69.99 / month

Verizon 450 minutes = $39.99 / month
Unlimited Data = $ 29.99 / month $39.99 + 29.99 = 69.98 / month

Explain $89.99 / month please.

sprint includes unlimited text in there plan so you would have to add that to the verizon one makeing it more expensive

Ok just had to register to post this.
Verizon talk&Text plan with 450 mins = $59.99
unlimited data = 44.95
total = 104.95 a month

The plan Stormin was showing is for talk only and no data.

To compare properly to Sprint
Unlimited text and Unlimited data with 450 mins is only $69.99 month.
The Sprint plan also includes Any mobile Anytime so you actually on use the 450 mins when calling landlines.

Looks like Sprint is cheaper but I do understand the original argument that it currently does not have the best phone on the market. I personally have to wait since I am with AT&T but looking to switch later on, maybe in the summer. By then they may have something new but if not I will settle with the Hero probably and in a year can upgrade at a lower price and not have to wait 2 years like at At&t. :)

no stormin's right with his price the unlimited data is to tether you laptop or netbook to it you can do the web surf and email is unlimited just cant tether

like i said verizon is more expensive if becuase they dont include unlimited text

I don't need text. The prices are from Verizon's web site and it is for Unlimited Data for $29.99 not tethering.

I'm just hoping that some one at Sprint might just read these forums and might just care. BUT, as long as there are blind sheep that live in the land of rainbows and unicorns that gladly eat what ever Sprint feeds them post that all is just peachy then things will not channge and Sprint will continue to hemmorhage customers. Enjoy the spiral down. Hope you enjoy the wait, the promise of 4G, the leftover phones. I'll remind you next year when you all jump to Verizon and ATT because you FINALLY figure out that Sprint just doesn't get it. But then neither do you, so you are a model customer for Sprint.

This whole business about having the latest and greatest is the purest form of BS. Cutting edge functionality is always cool BUT as for me, the bottom line is always going to lean towards value and excellent pricing. Sprint gives me that. I don't wanna pay more money for texting. Screw verizion. I bought the Samsung Moment specifically for texting. The keyboard is excellent and now that it's been properly updated, I am really loving my phone. Would I like to get a Droid or a Nexus One?, yeah it would be cool but with verzion, I would tell them to shove it with their $350.00 EFT and with Google, they could have done a lot better with the pricing of the N1 and also should have made it universally available across the board than just debut with one carrier. Google's / HTC's loss, not mine because even with all that bling, I'm not gonna switch anytime soon. When supersonic drops, I will have the best of both worlds: Excellent pricing, hi speed wimax broadband and a killer phone to boot.

On another note, I really dislike that ball headed ****** who rants and screams on that stock show called "Mad Money". He constantly tells people who call in to either sell off their Sprint Stock or to avoid buying the stock all togther. At just under $4 a share, the stock is an excellent buy. Once wimax becomes nationwide, supersonic and the overdrive hotspot is available (don't even get me talking about the specs on the overdrive, IT'S SICK!), you can count on the stock to rise.

All sprint has to do at this point is to continue to improve on their execution and customer service. Sprint should not let up one bit on improving their overall customer service. They need to crack the whip on the district managers and associates at all theirs stores and also the techs @ the RC's should be clawing at every opportunity to learn as much as they can with regards to the smartphones they are required to support. Basically every living able bodied sprint employee should be breathing, eating and living for smartphone technology. When you consider that even with all the carriers in play for the piece of the smartphone market, the poential for growth is still crazy HUGE and barely tapped. Enough smartphone market space for everyone to get a piece of the action. Five years from now I think smartphones and tablets are going to render the current personal computer model obsolete of which we will all benefit.

Ita funny when someone calls people sheep he is indeed the sheep with the wool pulled over his eyes. Go verizon then. You can have their crippled, bloatware infected phones. You can pay 30% more than me. And you can only upgrade once per year. Sure go ahead that's all you buddy. But here's the facts. LTE wonr be around for another two years at best. And using that spectrum for LTE is a farce. With that low of a frequency, it can't bear much load. That's why clear went 2500mhz. The higher the frequency, the faster the speed, the more data and users it can handle. 700MHZ will bog up very quickly. You'll have att's current situation now all over again. And what good is 4G if its not faster than what we got? Wimax has only hit the tip of a very large iceberg, and as speeds reach potential, sprint once again will pull ahead in the data race due to their networrk being able to handle its throughput vs a clogged network like atts mess.

,Over the past three years, my company has used Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile. My wife's plan has been Sprint the entire time.

As a business user of all three, Sprint has been the best overall. T-Mobile is better internationally, but domestically, Sprint is the best I've used.

From a $ standpoint, my wife has been with them for 10 years, so we have a fantastic family deal, unlimited data, messaging, free mobile to any mobile, and lots of other stuff. I just added a Samsung Moment to the plan and it was only $19.00 per month to add the line with all the bells and whistles. I'd never say never, but we've been extremely pleased with Sprint and feel like they work pretty hard to keep our business. I had her tell them once or twice over the years she was thinking of leaving and they always sweeten the deal to keep our business to the point where I doubt many carriers would match the deal.

They all have their good points and faults, but I am very pleased with Sprint.

It seems as if all of the news about network upgrades and new hot phones are on T-mobile, Verizon, and ATT. Is Sprint being left behind? You don't hear many good rumors pertaining to Sprint.

Exactly, go look in the Verizon forum and now everyone is complaining that Verizon can't keep up with Sprint. You should realize by now that technology constantly changes and no carrier is EVER on top permanently as far as phone selection. I came to Sprint because they have cheap plans, good coverage and a good phone selection. I also get a great discount from my job so that doesn't hurt.

We have been using Sprint for 10 + years and have had zero issues with them. There new all in one plan is great. We are paying less now than we where before and have there best plan.

Wanted an iPhone but did not want to change over to AT&T and definitely did not want to pay the $30 extra just to own one.
Loving the Android.

Peace
