The long home button press isn't the best way to get Gassist for me, I tap the mic icon in google search.

In general, google voice is geared toward finding information on the web and Bixby is very adept at controlling phone functions. Bixby allows you to even create "macros." You can say a phrase like "good night" and Bixby will perform a set of functions, e.g. set alarm and turn on blue light filter. These are called Quick Commands. Good luck.

There are a ton of YouTube videos describing the differences between the two and why you might want to use both. Bixby is interesting and worth checking out (to me). Something I could surely live without but then again, I don't use the Google assistant much either. I like them both though.
