Is the LG Ally worth "spending" an upgrade?

I have the Motorola Droid now... and I have a few upgrades on my account that I can use... I played with the LG Ally at work yesterday, and I think I like it. It's only $50 right now... so I'm definitely thinking about getting it... but I havent used it enough to know if it's really worth it or not. Does anyone have this phone, or maybe used to have it, and can give me some insight on whether or not I should "spend" and upgrade on it?

I think overall it's a nice device, but not worth transitioning from a droid if you're coming from one. For a new user to android based devices I'd recommend it for the value. Great Price!

So you are asking if you should spend an "upgrade" so that you can downgrade your phone. Interesting.

but I havent used it enough to know if it's really worth it or not.
Worth is always highly subjective and only you can determine if it's worth it to you or not. This is especially true since you haven't bothered to tell us what you want/need but that's fairly typical for these types of threads.

I haven't used the Ally myself but I wouldn't consider it an upgrade from the Droid from what I've read. Newer does not necessarily mean better.

the ally is a great phone, ally is more of a "teenager" phone though, it has a really nice keyboard, it feels like a nice powerful phone. droid is more of PDA-feel
