Is the Nook worth getting?

So, the Barnes & Noble Nook is out, with mixed reviews, and I'm trying to decide if I should get one (when the Christmas frenzy subsides). Does anyone on the forum have one, and if so do you like it? Or is it still just a novel Android device to root and play around with?

So far I really love my nook..a bit buggy but much cooler than the kindle. I hope with Android it can be more versatile and open up to interesting apps etc in the future.

Thanks for the reply. I agree that it's a better platform than the Kindle, especially with the way Amazon handles DRM. But based on what you've said (particularly the part in bold), it sounds like the Nook is still too 'beta' for my taste. I'm going to stick to paper books until I hear about an OTA.
