Is the Sciphone N12 for real?

This cloned phone is supposed to run the real Android OS (whereas previous sciphones were just made to look like one, running a proprietary generic OS). For around $200 with no contract, I can only cross my fingers this is true (supposedly releasing June 25th). The battery & screen resolution seems weak, but if those are the only downsides, sign me up!

My theory is that it'll resemble the generic reference designs of video cards. You know NVidia & ATI make the basics, and allows different manufacturers to customize it & add to it. This is whats happening to Tmobile with android, but some manufacturers could go for the cheapest components (such as the low resolution and battery of the N12) and get the android OS out with the least amount of modification. Basically you get the most basic Android OS without all the fuss and release delays (and expense that a carrier tries to add)

I won't ever buy a sci phone again bought an Iphone clone piece of junk unstable phone tmobile could not get the internet to work in america

It might feel cheap, but hey, it is cheap!? So what do you expect from a cheap phone?
By the way didn't you get help from the SciPhone forum?

I did try the sciphone forum no help every 20 minutes it would detect a new time zone and ask me if I would like to update even even though I to it to auto update.

the mysciphone.com forums work for me. It may be your browser incompatibility problem. Try firefox, opera, or chrome. As for the N12, it's been delayed by a month, so it looks like we have to wait a bit longer to see how it compares with the big name Android players.
