Is the Software Engineer the dumbest brand of Engineer?

I say yes, specifically the software engineers that worked on the android virtual keyboard.
When I go to an on-line forum and attempt to either start a thread, I am always plagued by non-stop software-related glitches.
For example, I scroll down past a paragraph of a post I'm trying to reply to, and it is impossible for me to scroll down further without the entire page bouncing up and down! I go to place the insertion point at the end of one sentence and it ends up somewhere in the middle of another sentence, usually in a completely different paragraph! I go back to retrieve the insertion point and the screen bounces up and down again. I (go to write something in parenthesis)begin and a word like "begin" automatically appears after the last parenthesis. I go to type a colon:the and a word like "the" immediately appears after the colon, necessitating me to check and edit my work repeatedly. I can't type a %colon:the symbol without the words, "colon:the" following the percent symbol.

My mobile device isn't at fault, this is the second Droid X I've owned; both having the same software problems.

All of this is because software engineers are overpaid dullards who should be kept on unemployment for good, in the interest of society.
There should be mandatory intelligence testing for anyone desiring a career as a software engineer (this would weed out about 95%the of all applicants, of course)begin.

I don't think your problem has anything to do with keyboards. I browse forums with none of your issues, unless you are using the full desktop version of the website, in which case I think the browser is at fault because the phone and its browsers aren't optimized to handle those kinds of pages.

accountants are what cripples engineers.

come up all the time in the bike forums, "what are these rubber spacers between some fins?"

they are there for harmonics, but you can bet an engineer wanted twice as many to be safe but an accountant wanted to bare min to save .00010 of a cent.
