Is there a better Swype for JB?

Since I upgraded to Jellybean, the Swype keyboard has been crap-- doesn't catch the right word(s) literally half the time as I go, and I spend more time backing up and typing each letter manually than I would had I given up on Swype entirely.

Is there a way to get this damn engine to work as well as it did under ICS?

I've noticed this as well ... and your post prompted me to take a look to see if maybe some of the settings had been modified during the upgrade.

What I found is that I've actually been using the Samsung keyboard which allows swiping input!. I've now switched to the actual Swype keyboard, and we'll see if that's any better. I'm not sure if that's true in your case, and not sure if this is something new with JB ... but something to check at least.

You can use Swiftkey which has Swiftkey Flow. It's well worth the money and the predictions are almost spot on for me.

Rob, now that you mentioned it, I checked and the same thing happened to me.

I have switched back to Swype, and things are so much better just making this post...

Anyway, I may give that other thing a try, later, but at least with Swype proper running again my frustration levels have dropped precipitously.

Agreed ... I've been using the "real" Swype since yesterday and it's much improved over the Samsung "imposter". :)

I've been using SwiftKey Flow for some time now. It is the best keyboard I've used. It can almost always predict what my next word is going to be.
