Help Is there a notification sound time limit?

I would like to make a 1-hour long custom notification sound to use with calendar appointments because the current ones are too short.
I'd like an appointment reminder sound to keep playing until I turn it off.

can this be done?

it appears that a sound file will only be played 18 minutes or so and then shut off by itself.

Don't know. But my solution is to use "Calendar Snooze", which repeats the notification as often and for as long as you like.

I stumbled upon an app called Astrid to do list and it does exactly what I need. Has a nice infinite repeat notification alarm feature, clean interface.
Calendar snooze is clunky, and the adware version only allows sound repeating 5x.
