Is there a reliable File Manager app that installs without ads?

I've tried Astro File Manager. I like it but I don't like how it keeps displaying ads. I saw one called File Manager (no ads) but not sure if this is reliable enough as in virus and performance issues. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I'd much prefer if Android comes with a built-in file manager.

X-plore is my go-to file manager on every device. The GUI is a bit dated, but it's split screen, rock solid, and frequently updated.

Root Explorer is my goto exporer. No ads, with root you can view system folders. Simple cloud storage integration. It costs a couple of bucks, but I think it was more than worth it.

I'll pile on my recommendation too: Solid Explorer. Very polished two-pane file manager with root and advanced functions. Free two week trial, it'll set you back $2 after that.
