Is there a Vlingo-like app for Android?

Does anyone know if there is anything out there similar to Vlingo...one that would enable you to send a text by actually SPEAKING it into the phone and not having to type it? I'm new to Android coming from BlackBerry for many years and this is one app I truly miss.

Thanks in advance!!!

I'm not terribly familiar with the default texting app as I use HandCent. But with HC you just start a text message, click on the menu button and then click the "Speak" button.

It's as easy as pie. If pie were, you know, a text message.

I've actually BEEN using HC...just never even thought about that being an option already in there. I tried it today and it didn't really do well in figuring out what I said. Does it learn as you go along? Thanks for the info thus far.

OS 2.1 lets you use voice input for all fields. I know this really only helps for N1 people, but hopefully we'll all be there soon enough.

Um... WAY more phones than Nexus One have 2.1. 50% of android phones have 2.1 now. This includes the Sprint Hero, Moment, Evo 4g, Moto Droid, Droid Eris, Droid Incredible, LG Ally, Nexus One, and the upcoming Droid X and Droid 2 will at least have 2.1 if not 2.2. I don't know what phone you are using, but over 50% have 2.1 now.

As for the OP, if your phone has 2.1 the stock texting app should have a microphone on the keyboard, and the stock 2.1 voice recognition is much better than the handcent voice recognition.
