Help Is there a way to block phone number and sms in kitkat

Hey. So my gf has a crazy ex calling and texting. Is there a way to block a phone number/sms natively or at all in 4.4.2. I cant find it on my phone which is zte max and my gf is on galaxy s3 both phones are rooted. Seems at some point i saw a black list somewhere but that might have been in 4.1.2. I cant remember

Most 3rd party SMS apps have a blacklist function in their settings, so if the Samsung message app doesn't have such a thing a replacement message app would deal with texts. My HTC has this option in the phone app: I go to the list of contacts, long-press on the contact in question and "block contact" is one of the options in the pop-up menu. You could try this on one of the texts as well and see whether there is a blocking option that way.
