is there a way to clear the message field while texting for the s3?

hi, i was wondering if there was a way to quickly clear a text field all at once for the s3? it seems like the only way is to hit the backspace continuously. is there another way?

thanks = )

Press and hold a word on the screen in the text box till the little blue arrows appear next to the word you have highlighted, adjust the left arrow the first word you want to delete, and the right arrow to the last word and press delete. Should delete everything in between.

Press and hold a word then when a toolbar pops up with editing options, hit the select all button. You should be able to tell which button is which from the icons.

Isn't that the point though? To completely clear backspace will go into turbo mode to quickly remove text?

I'd rather have no turbo mode and add a clear button. Like the 'X' at the end of google search box. This goes for all inputting, not just txt messages. Turbo always kicks in too soon and there goes a sentence.

I agree, but the OP was asking how to quickly remove ALL text and not just parts.

I just hold the back button and then it starts deleting a lot quicker then just pressing it over and over.
