Apps Is there a way to determine locations inside buildings for android?

Hi guys ,These days I work on a program to locate a user application inside the buildings, I think it can done by GPS .

But I read on the Internet that GPS does not work inside buildings, is there a way to determine the user's location inside the building or user tracking inside the building.

It depends on what you mean by "GPS." You can get location fixes inside of buildings, and it can be precise enough that it can register a change in only a few steps. However there is no navigation software that works indoors (other than a few exceptions in google maps), but you could develop this yourself.

Hi jonbonazza, I have no problem to develop application by myself, but I do not know which technique I use, if imposed that I can put the design of the building within the application, can user determine him position ?

I am Awinita. I have used an app called snapp! which is location based app that tracks our position. It uses a System GPS Locator that works to determines the location even in the indoors and on the go!

It really useful to anyone who want to know about their position and the nearby location. You can also try this and enjoy!

Thanks for this update Awinita but I think its much more like Google latitude where you can share your location with friends.

I am using a hardcore navigation system in my smart phone "SatGuide GPS Navigation for Android Smart Phones". This will let you experience the turn by turn navigation. I loved it.
