You can do this, and a lot more, if you use "Camera ZOOM FX" instead of the standard camera app. It's on sale at the moment (not sure whether there's a free or trial version) and I've provided a link below. For this, you don't need to be rooted.

Personally I wouldn't be too eager to use a third party camera app. The gs3 has an impressive camera which I wouldn't want to lose.

Yep, definitely worth comparing both capabilities/facilities (such as image quality, stabilisation, burst shots etc.) and then making an informed choice. But I can choose which camera app to launch depending on the situation, so I don't feel as though I am losing out. In fact I think the problem is that there are so many photographic apps that it can become a maze of choices.

I wouldn't want a "Shatter Button" at all. The phone is expensive and hard to replace.

You can just say cheese and it will take a photo. Less chance of motion blur than using a shutter button.

i miss the video pausing when recording a view. i hate the fact you have to stop the video..

didnt the galaxy s 2 have video pausing or was it the infuse. i had both i dont remember..
