Apps Is there a way to play sound on a call?

I have a few ideas for new applications and am wondering is there was an API of other way to play a sound over the call so the other person would hear it. So if I wanted to, for example, have the TTS engine say something to the person on the other end of the call.

In the same token, would there be a way for the speech recognition engine to recognize what the caller was saying?

Just an idea, but trying to see if this is even possible.

Hi Microwave Kane & Welcome to AF forums!

I've seen this question posted a few times over various boards and Unfortunately Their currently isn't an app capable of this as far as I know. I beleive it has something to do with the Development doesn't allow it {Could be overcome with the right app + ROOT??? } , the same reason I beleive that we can't currently record calls.

But keep an eye out as Maybe in future updates this will become possible
