Is there a way to save settings

First, apologies if this has been asked before (and I'm sure it has) but using the search was not quite helpful for me tonight. If anyone knows of any existing threads about it, feel free to point me there.

I have decided to play around with different things on my Tbolt, wallpapers, icons, etc. Basically, create a mini-theme, just on things like that. I have seen this thread - http://androidforums.com/droid-x-all-things-root/246462-theme-help-tutorial.html - And it is definately a lot of reading.

What I was looking for, was a way that would be a little simpler, some way to back up current settings like what I mentioned, Wallpaper, icons, maybe even widget usage / placement. Something like that, which would then allow me to try a couple different wallpapers and the like, with a way to go back to other "themes" without having to spend too much time to do everything all over again.

Does such an animal exist? Or am I limited to breaking down and trying to learn the whole process from start to finish, just for something simple to change? Again, not looking for a full-on revamp of everything, just a way to back up / save my current basic settings, creating a profile for each, basically.

Thanks in advance for any advice or tips, tricks, links, and the like.

trying to remember, depending on the ROM that you're running, try menu, personalize... i think there is an option to save current scene... i may be mistaken... the current ROM that i'm running doesn't give me the option to save and/or backup...

EDIT - sorry, just realized that your a Thunderbolt... not sure how similar that device is to the EVO...

I factory reset my phone recently and had a backup of my settings kicking around I made with ADW Launcher. It actually restored almost exactly as I saved it. Only the widgets and wallpaper needed to be re-applied but that's only a couple of minutes of work. My screens were restored and my ADW preferences were restored. Everything else not related to themes was restored courtesy of Google

Hmm...I'm running a Stock ROM atm, which has served me well so far. However, that may change down the road a little. For now, I'm just saving icons and wallpapers in separate folders, in case I want to change or revert back. A little extra work, but for now, it'll do. Thanks though, I might tinker around with ADW later on and see which I prefer.

Thanks both :)
