I have an old tablet that is currently running android 4.0.4. I am trying to upgrade it so I can use it for school work, however I haven't been able to find a conventional way to do so. I was wondering if there would be a way to upgrade it?
And even then, android upgrades are INCREDIBLY device specific.. so unless the manufacturer has released an update, or its a really popular device and people have spent the time and effort building it for that specific advice, your unlikely to be able to upgrade. If you have an unbranded/generic tablet, it doesn't look good for its upgrade potential.
If it's even worth it, the model is a Polaroid PMID1000B. Maybe if it's even worth asking, is there at least a way to get the google play store, or was that before this android version?
Looks like the latest version is android 4.0. It is a pretty old device. From what I see it never had the play store in the first place .You can try to sideload the app store but that requires root on most devices and it does not always work properly. Anyways, take a look at the links at the bottom. It might be too much of a hassle though and side loading specific apps would be easier.
