Is there an app for NYC Subways?

I have to go to NYC in a few weeks, and I haven't been there before without a guide.

I have to go to several locations via the NYC Subway system each day that I'm there, and I don't know the subways at all.

Is there an app that can help me out? I can go to just about any other city and get where I need to go with a GPS, but how do I handle NYC in the subways?

Used it in April. It's basically a HQ 4 way scrollable map. But it worked fine for me.

there's also NYC Subway and Transit Status. don't think it includes maps, but it's handy to keep track of what is/not running on time.
