Is there an app that disables wifi when you 'lock' your phone?

I did some searching and couldn't find an app like this, figured I'd try here. Anyone know of a app that will disable your wifi when you lock your phone, and enable it when it's unlocked?

That's what I want to do is save my batter, to have wifi on only when I'm actually using the phone at work (really bad signal here) but when ever it's locked and in my pocket it's disabled, with out me having to do it manually.

What I'm saying is that having Wifi on uses way less battery than 3G, I have my policy for my wifi to never sleep. But this is in the advanced settings once you're looking at the available wireless networks you can get to the advanced ssettings.

I'm on n1 froyo and when I go to wifi settings, I only see wifi, network notification, , my 2 wifi networks, and add wifi network. no advanced settings.

So I guess the question is is it better to have it set to turn off when the display is off or leave it on in lieu of 3G? Which is better for battery? I work from home and our 3G coverage here is so so. I use WiFi only when at home but am generally on a PC so my phone is locked with the screen off. Is it better for battery life to have it stay on WiFi since it uses this instead of 3G or just leave it so that it disables WiFi when the screen is off?

My Desire only seems to have a Wi-Fi sleep policy option: After 15 mins, Never when plugged in, or Never. Which is best, as I wouldn't want my mobile data plan to take a large data hit?
