so i saw this new midrange from samsung called Galaxy A6 and A6+ 2018 with snapdragon 450 and exynos 7870 and they only have acceptable performance, and acceptable battery, the A6 is not even a full HD, and the price is 310 dollars? ok, the A6+ is more expensive but you can get a same and par specs of xiaomi's Redmi 5 with less than half the price of A6, the price to specs of samsung's seems quite disappointing compared to xiaomi. is there any reason to buy samsung midrange? you can even get a snapdragon 710 phone from xiaomi for less than a price of A6 and its powerful enough to be last year's flagship.

1. Snapdragon 710 is not powerful enough to be last year's flagship.
2. There are more stuff on the Samsungs that you need to pay for: NFC, support for wireless pay, Dolby Atmos.
3. Component quality: I've seen many people complaining about their connections being not too fast on mobile data. I can't find any certification on the antennae of Xiaomi ti find out what category speeds they can support.
4. Screens aren't all about resolution. Xiaomi's are typical TFT LCDs with would be expected to be worse than the Samsungs under sunlight, and the Samsungs would have better color range and brightness range.
5. Several of Samsung's services would be bundled in the payment. Support for Samsung auxillary services like Samsung cloud, etc.
6. Premium. Samsung is a premium brand, so it would ask for more premium.

7. Support. Unless you're in Asia, you're very likely going to be buying a Xiaomi Redmi as a grey import. Which means no local warranty service, and any problem you'll have to ship it back to China probably at your expense, and wait. Also if you're in the US, carrier compatibly will be quite limited.
