Is there any way to make this sorry POS charge faster?

What is your typical charge time w/the G5?

Hours. Although this is while being used. Seems like an hour for every 10%.

It's kinda hard to gauge accurate charge times if you're using the phone while charging.

There's just no way around it.
Give the phone a chance, at least a half hour w/o use, to get a better idea of actual charge times.
Better yet, get a 2nd battery kit & swap batteries as needed....

Don't know what your on about, my G5 is fully charged in just over an hour. Gets me through the entire day. I think its time to switch out your battery.

One other option is available.

I have the Anker 26800 battery pack that has a Fast Charge feature.

If you press the button on the battery pack, it will go into Fast Charge mode.

somehow, Anker has been able to get this thing to talk to the charger/regulator on the phones.
it has worked on every phone and Kindle device I have plugged it into.

My Note 4 goes from 15% to full 100% in about 20 minutes.

The Kindle Paperwhite eReader is fully charged in something less than 30 minutes.
that is quite unlike the OEM charger taking hours to charge it up.
