Is there changes for mobile data, if mobile data and wifi is turned on together?

If my [data] and [wifi] button is always on my samsung s4, does it mean that when i reach a place that has wifi, will it auto connect to wifi and stop using data (stop data charges)?
 
It will automatically connect to known WiFi networks, ones you have connected to before and saved the password. I leave mobile data and WiFi on all the time and let Android automatically handle switching between them.

While connected to WiFi mobile data is off and you are not being charged.
