is this a update zip or a custom rom CM7.2-M835-SK-0916

[Android Question]

I have a metro pcs android 2.2 M835 and I root the device I downloaded I dont know if it is update zip or custom rom and should I flash with a flash recovery app I downloded ? also if I already downloaded the sign zip & the the goo sign zip to my sd card how do I install ? do I boot into recovery and let it install or do I need a laptop to use

the Zip that you have downloaded is more then likely a custom ROM that will need to be flashed using a custom recover such as TWPR or Clockworkmod

I would suggest becoming a member and you can read the All Things Root section for your phone. this will give you a step by step instructions on how to flash and what are trusted sites to get the ROMS from.
