Is this normal for android phone update

I got a notification but it popped up over the entire phone as like it wont let you do anything else unless you made an option and does an android 9 update ask you what time you would like set schedule for the phone to update. Is it normal to get a list of time options to choose from like for example between 1am and 2am...the phone did update but left my SD card saying its corrupted.

System updates are important because they often contain the latest security patches. Closing vulnerable exploits in the Android firmware is a continual process as hackers look for more elaborate ways to break in. However, I have never had a system update corrupt my microSD card. How new or old is the card? All flash memory has a lifespan, measured in read/write cycles. Also, are you sure it's a legitimate card, not counterfeit? I suggest using the free app Fake Device Test and running a FULL scan on the card. This will wipe your card - so copy everything off to a PC or laptop first!

That's nothing I've ever seen in any Android device. When I've received update notifications, They show as a notification badge on the Settings icon, as well as a pull down notification that can be dismissed. Which then offers to update now, defer until later, or just ignore.

What phone have you actually got there, make, model, and carrier? Because it sounds like something the manufacturer and/or the carrier has done on that particular device. Also Android 9? Because AFAIK the manufacturers who are currently rolling out updates, are updating to 10.

As for the corrupted SD, have you tried reading it with a computer or another device.

LG have only just go around updating this phone to Android 9? When the current version been rolled out by manufacturers to their supported devices is Android 10. And that was released by Google more than a year ago.

Did you have the SD set as adopted internal storage in your phone, or just normal FAT formatted external storage?

So my SD is set to normal external drive on my LG Stylo 4.

At&t but I did not have it as a phone so there is no SIM card.
About the update that's just what I see when I went to settings to see about phone what software is running on currently.

128GB SanDisk Ultra Plus

Thank You
