Is this the stock Note 4 touch screen, or a protector?

I have been noticing ever since I got my Note 4, that the Home Button is buried deep below the surface of the screen. This is quite a contrast to the S5 where the Home Button is raised up so much, it gets activated accidently.

Is this the actual touch screen surface, or is a Screen Protector someone has installed?

Zagg Glass screen protector. I have one on mine and it looks the same.

Thank you,

Guess I better leave it alone. I'm surprised it has not made the screen insensitive to touch.

Was it put there to minimize scratches from the Pen ?

I have yet to pull the Pen out, does anyone use it much? That is one of the features that attracted me to the Note 4 but I need to learn how to use it.

The primary reason I got it was for the larger Real Estate for my 73 y/o eyeballs which can't see small fonts

Hi,

Actually, you can put the phone completely in a cellophane bag and still use the touch screen so usually you will not notice any change in function when adding a screen protector. There is also a setting (at the bottom of the Display and Wallpaper settings screen) to make the touch screen even more sensitive should you need to use the phone with gloves on.

The pen is also designed not to scratch the screen, which is actually quite tough. However, if you get sand in your pocket along with the phone then expect some scratches. If you have the protector, and scratch the screen in this way, then you can just replace the protector and scratches begone. That said, I don't have a protector on my Note 4. I tend not to sell my phones and try to run them into the ground instead. In the last year of use I cannot say that I have a scratch yet because I am quite careful (even though the phone has dropped multiple times).

I use the pen a lot, mostly for taking quick notes (especially over photos of equipment I have in the server room), but it is also good for hitting small links in web pages since you can see a little circle where you are about to click when the pen gets close to the screen. It is also required if there are some mouse over events in web pages.

Hope this helps clear things up, but let me know if not ;)

Regards,
Eric.

Hi, I use the S pen quite a lot, mainly for navigating round the screen, I find it invaluable when you have fat fingers like me, I think it makes it so much easier and quicker to use the screen. Phil

well i would suggest you to go for a liquid screen protector..its better plus as you have shown in the image that the button is buried deep...with invisible liquid screen you will not have such problems. I personally used liquid protector by shark proof for my iPad
