I'm seeing quite a few of you are new to tablets, or Android in general. Is this your first tablet, first Android or did you just have to have it (like me)?
Feel free to give your reasoning in the comments. :D

This is my first tablet. I have been waiting for some time in order to find the "right" tablet. The Nexus 7 16gb is the perfect size, and very powerful. Love it!

First tablet. Was thinking about the Kindle fire since I have a prime account, but the Nexus specs and same price for the 8gb were too tempting and I wanted an Android tablet since I'm already invested in their app ecosystem.

I have an Android phone but this is in fact my first tablet and so far i love it. I sold my Ipod touch to buy it. I had no need for it once i bought my smartphone so I decided to sell it before a new model came out and it lost its value. Honestly I don't see what is the big deal with iOS. Overrated in my opinion. I actually like android better.

Already have an Android phone and a iPad 3 (which I use for most things tablet), but needed an Android tablet for a specific app not available on iOS and Nexus 7 seemed like a great choice (it has been so far!)

My gateway tablet was a rooted Nook Color but it was so slow and clunky, I never warmed to it though I saw potential. Then I got an iPad2 which I admit I like a lot but I read a lot and it's too big for that. I had some extra cash last year so I got an Asus Transformer which was fun at first but a 10" 16:9 tablet is worse for reading.

So far I'm impressed with the N7 because it seems to be the perfect size to use as an internet connected reader. I think my Nook SimpleTouch is a better reader, but since it's locked to B&N's ecosystem, I can't just download books from Smashwords without a computer handy. That problem has been eliminated with the N7.

This is my first tablet. I lost an iPod Touch earlier this year and had become addicted to having "instant Internet" without the need to have a computer running constantly. I prefer a device that is not tied to a mobile network along with it's costs. I was on the verge of getting a second hand Touch again when the Nexus was announced. The rest, as they say, is history.

This is MY first tablet. I had a flyer for a day and returned it. My Wife has a Nook Color but she won't let me touch it with anything geek related in mind:rolleyes:

I love the form factor and the fact that everything is so seamless between my GNex and this tab. Too bad I have to go through the exchange process. Nothing I haven't had to do with any of the phones I have owned. No biggie when it is all said and done.

I have had an android phone for about a half a year before the nexus 7 was announced. I just couldn't pass it up.. I had an iPhone before my android but wouldn't want to go back.. The iPhone is more of a device for women and old people. More of a fashion statement than a tool.. just my $.02

First tablet for me. My wife has had a KF since Christmas, but I never used it beyond setting it up for her.

Yeah I had a Nook Color for a bit just to hack and mod it. Never over clocked it but even with CM7 it was too sluggish.
Our Flyer is still quite nice for quick browsing and email but that's about it.

Same here

Neither first Android device nor tablet. BUT, first tablet with only WiFi capabilities...it's a strange situation to adjust to.

First tablet, but 3rd Android device. First was the HTC Desire, then the Galaxy Nexus and now the GNex's big brother.

Yeah I took the plunge and bought the Nexus 7. This is someone who doesn't even own a cell phone. As bad as that sounds I do have some computer experience with Windows and Linux so I am not completely blind. Looking forward to see what Android offers and will be a frequent visitor here

Welcome to Android Forums and to the platform cotts.:) This is the place to be to learn all about your new toy.

This is my first tablet. I've been watching and waiting patiently for an Android tablet that looked worthwhile to come along. Barely held back on the Motorola Xoom, but I'm glad I did. I've been very happy with my android phones, and really didn't care for the iPod touch (can't stand the walled in garden mentality). That's what kept me away from the iPad. Very happy with the Nexus, except for the screen lift.

Second tablet (first was a GTab10.1 16gb WiFi that I sold for this n7), sixth Android device (Galaxy S 4G, LG G2x, ZTE Warp (less than one day -COMPLETE GARBAGE), LG Marquee (my daily driver), GTab10.1 16gb WiFi, now the n7).

I used to be real active in the iOS jailbreaking and independent development scene, but since my first Android device, I haven't picked up a single iOS device (never really liked Apple - they're compu-nazis - but their iPod touch, at the time, was about the best little gadget out there)

Not my first Android device or tablet - my previous tablet is a Chinese 10.1" Flytouch 3, running Android 2.1 (Froyo.) It is so slow, underpowered, that I was getting frustrated. Jellybean blazes! What a joy.

Tell me about it! I've had some decent tablets in the past, but this one smokes em all. Such a joy to use. :D
