Is your NE2 credit restored when you return a phone?

Thinking of taking the BOGO offer for 2 Moto Droids. If I decide I'd rather have the Incredible and return both phones within the 30-day window, would VZW restore my NE2 credit on the next order? Thanks!

You might have to switch back to your old line for a minute if they are going to play hard and fast with the rules, but it looks like things should work out for you.

If you don't mind the restocking fee of $35 per phone, then you can return them inside the 30-day window and your NE2 will be restored.

If you can go back to your old phones for a few days, then you won't have to pay the restocking fee, and you will also get your NE2 back.

Just depending on what you want to do.

It pretty clearly states on the receipts from Verizon Wireless stores (at least) that you do not have to pay a restocking fee if you are going back to your old phone.

I did this because I just wasn't happy with the Eris I bought and went back to my old EnV for a week or so. No restocking fee, and my NE2 was restored within hours.

I'm thinking of test-driving a Droid to get a feel for the Android OS, but my next phone will likely be either a Bold (VZW), the Incredible or the Nexus. So if I just go and buy a fifth (new) phone/line and subsequently return it to Verizon, will they hit me with that $35 restock fee? IOW, do they charge that restock fee even if it's basically a new account that gets canceled?

Sorry you didn't get an answer on this yet. Unfortunately, I don't know what the policy is on a new line when you return the phone.

However, I test-drove an Eris because I thought I would be getting the Incredible. Took it back after 3 weeks to test-drive the Droid and I'm sticking with it (even after checking out the Incredible today).

I would suggest you decide on the form factor you like. I discovered that I absolutely have to have a physical keyboard. No, the Droid's keyboard is not the best but it was the first Droid and it's not that bad, just takes getting used to.

I like the heavier feel and size of the Droid. The Eris (and even the Incredible) felt too light and the overall construction did not feel as solid as the Droid. I love the dedicated camera button and physical on/off button.

So, do your research and be sure you don't get another line you can't get rid of and then test-drive a few Android phones. If you're going to spend the money and sign a two-year contract, you should be happy with your phone for awhile.

Best of luck! :)
