Issue with Kindle

MegDun

Lurker
I download the Kindle app and got signed into my account on it, which there were no problems with that. But when I go to download ANY books I lose my connection to the public wifi that I use. I have tried to uninstall the app and reinstall it and that did nothing. I would really love to have access to my books so if anyone has any idea of something I can do with the app or with my tablet I would appreciate if you could let my know as soon as you can. Thank you

First of all, try a different wifi connection. It could simply be a restriction on that wifi that downloads from certain sources are blocked. Audiobook downloads from Amazon are pretty big and they could pretty much have disabled downloading ANYTHING from Amazon.

Can you download to a wired computer instead? You can transfer books via USB to a Kindle reader.

Also make sure that you have the latest Kindle app. Amazon does make changes that bork things for a bit. I'm assuming you remembered to update your password for the wifi. (The Vulcan didn't - drove me nuts for an hour when he couldn't get his book)

Does that public wifi need a password?
