Issue with RK3229 box

Ryu77us

Lurker
Hi all, new to the forums!

I am working on my neighbours iLEPO MXQ 4k box with an RK3229. He brought it to me because everytime he would launch a video (youtube, kodi doesn't matter) the video shows green and then the box restarts.

I've tried everything, playing with the settings, I have updated the firmware via RK Batch Tool to the latested. After booting same issue. I have tried custom ROM as well and still have the exact same issue.

The power supply I have that was supplied is a 2.0A 125v, I used this same power supply on an MXQ Pro 4K with an AMlogic 905 with no issues.

Anyone ran into this before? I have not been able to find any issues on the internet that are the same and have a resolution that works.

I'm guessing you've tried different cables and ports etc on the back of the TV?

What resolutions are TV's, are they 4k?

Most of the time, if an issue persists after a firmware update/ROM flash, you're looking at a hardware problem so I'm guessing something in the box is faulty. He'll probably need to go for a warranty return unfortunately. :(

Thanks for the replies guys, I have tried all types of TVs, I have not tried using the RCA jack however! I will try the AV port and see. If it works do you think its a hardware issue? E.G. Faulty HDMI

This a known issue with some older model TVs.

If you're lucky the Android TV box can be adjusted to 'FORCE RGB'.
The option (if you have it) should be somewhere on your Android TV box settings.

Also, you may try this... while your box is on, switch your TV input to a different HDMI option and then switched it back.
Another poster has said that he could 'trick' his TV into performing correctly when he did this.

Of course, if you are having this issue on every TV you plug the box into then you have a bad box!
Have you managed to find some RCA cables yet?
