Help Issue with Teslaunread and new notification icons

Hello,
I am moving to the 6p from an iPhone and I wanted a wa to be able to add the notification icons to my app icons, fr example when I have a missed call or new text message, I get a small noticable notificaion in the corner of the app icon.

Someone told me tha the nova launcher and teslaunread may do this. I have downloaded them but this is not making this happen.

Does anyone else know of any way to make the notificaions pop up sort of like on an iphone?

Go into Settings--> Sound & notification-->Advanced/Notification access, and make sure TeslaUnread is enabled.
