Issue with video looping on NEO U9-H Media Hub

Hi there,

I seem to be experiencing a strange issue when trying to loop videos on my android device.

I have tried using VLC and MX player. Both allow you to set a video to loop, but in my case, every time the video ends, instead of looping back to the beginning of the video it seems to start looping again at 5-10 seconds in each time. I have checked the settings in both VLC and MX player and I can't see anywhere where I might have instructed it to do this. It's really strange.

I am using HALauncher

Does anyone know why this might be?

The looping issue is occurring with ALL media players I have tried.

Here's an example.

I have an 8 minute video. Let's say I play it from the start and exit to the menu on 4 minutes.

Then I select the video again, play it from the beginning and let it run to the end. When it starts looping, instead of playing the video from the beginning it will start playing at 4 minutes in i.e where I exited the video the previous time it was played.

Like I say, I have tried a whole host of video players for android and the same issue is occurring on all of them.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

With the MX Player app have you looked in
Settings >> Player >> (scroll down to the Playback section) and in the 'Resume' menu there are options for 'Yes' 'No' and 'Ask at startup'; along with a 'Resume only the first file' option. Are any of these enabled/disabled? If so, try toggling them back and forth. Also, scroll down to check the 'Smart Previous Button' which also refers to 'resume playback' issues.

The VLC app appears to a little different approach to things at least that's from I can find. There's the app settings menu that gets applied to the VLC app itself but a lot of the more granular features, like various 'resume' options, get applied on a per file basis instead (in each file's contextual, three-dot menu during playback).

Thanks,

Yes I will try what you suggested with MX player, pretty sure I have already, tried everything but can't resolve the issue.

Strangely enough, by chance after trying everything under the sun I found 'MoviePlayer' which is a default video player for this device. It's not got the best UI but it will loop a video from the beginning each time. It's not a seemless transition and you do get a black screen for about 3 seconds before the video starts re-playing. It's not ideal but it works.

It just amazes me that it seems impossible to be able to loop a video from the beginning whenever you want.
