Root issues after unroot

I got a thunderbolt a few months ago after my d2g starting pissing me off so I just threw it in the drawer. Recently I tried to reset it back factory stock so I could have it as a backup phone if necessary. Unrooted using z4..the same way i rooted it last year. Problem is, half the time it will boot up perfectly fine, other times it keeps going to the recovery screen where you flash .zip files and stuff. If I hit reboot system now it will boot up just fine. I downloaded some rsd lite thing and the sbf but am having trouble figuring out how to use it. any help appreciated.
 
Check out the SBF threads that speak to the D2G. Your best bet is to SBF to stock, and run a WIPE CACHE and WIPE DATA.
