Root Issues installing Twrp on Galaxy s5 Lollipop

I own a Galaxy s5 SM-G900F running Lollipop 5.0. I am having issues getting Twrp to run (or any other custom recovery) in order to root the device. I have installed Twrp using Odin and it has succeeded to do so. However, when running recovery it still runs the Android System Recovery 3e. I have tried installing different versions of Twrp (Over 5 times, even though I probably shouldn't have) although desperately need to Root in order to recover some important files I've accidentally deleted.

Android System Recovery 3e looks a little like this:

Android system recovery <3e>
reboot system now
apply update from ADB
apply update from external storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
apply update from cache

I will be grateful if anyone could share a solution to this problem. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Djayanas

I've got a s5 with tmobile ob1 lollipop. I had rooted then unrooted when I had kk. I've got root now again and actually have a kick butt rom in it now. I had used the cf auto root available here and flashed via odin. I used philztouch recovery. I had a ton of problems trying to get bloat gone. I need up flashing in the twisted lollipop rom made by the sickness over at xda. I haven't had any real problems.

Try rooting first, then use the Android recovery to flash a new one in, or use something like Flashify to flash it into your device. Had this same issue when I did the same thing you're doing but it's all systems go now.
