Issues with K9 mail (and a question about the Gmail app)

I started using K9 just recently, and it was all good until I tried to download an attachment; when I tap on download it says that it's "impossible to download to SD" and refuses to do anything.

If I go with open, sometimes it opens the file, sometimes it doesn't; is there a rime or reason to this? Am I doing something wrong?

On a similar note, is there a way to directly download an attachment from the Gmail app? It only has the preview option, but I don't see a direct download one.

So yeah, I kinda managed to solve both issues.

In K9, since the folder I stated as the one to save the attachments to didn't exist, it didn't save it. I forgot that Android doesn't necessarily have the same behavior as a normal desktop OS (in this case, create the folder if it doesn't exist).

The Gmail thing is not exclusive to me or my phone: it seems that the app actually LACKS a download attachment function, so I had to download another app from the market to be able to save them directly.

Probably worth mentioning that you designate the folder under

Settings>Miscellaneous>Save attachments to

That pops you into the file manager. Once you've selected (highlighted) the (existing) folder to which you want to save, touch the "Use this folder" bar at the top of the page.

That is correct. My problem is that (and now that you mention it, I should post in that thread) K9 didn't recognize FX as my file manager, so instead I had to enter the folder manually.

Is that settings accessed from the accounts page or from within the account? I don't see a "Miscellaneous" choice anywhere.

Thanks.

You can access them from both: if you're on the accounts page, hit the menu button and you can then go to settings; if you're inside an account, when you hit the menu button you go to more and then settings, a pop-up menu will appear and in there you can select global settings and it'll take you to the menu where you can find Miscellaneous.
