Help Issues with new tab 4 (file transfer from PC)

Hello all!

First I'd like to say thanks for any who are able (or not able) to help.

I have been trying to transfer some mp4 files to my tab now for a while.. My computer is reading my tab and i can rifle through the files on the tab through my main comp without issue. The problem I'm having is when i start the transfer (and conversion is readable file type) this happens.

1. an obscene about of time for file transfer (8-13 hours it states for file transfer)
2. NOOOOO movement/progression of file tranfer bar
3. eventual "error, lost connection or devise disconnected", then it asks me to skip or what-not

I have tried 3 different USB cables 3 different usb ports and 2 different computers. all to the same effect.
(PS) when i skip the file conversion asked by windows it will begin the transfer then stop randomly during the transfer. Shortly after I will receive the same error message.

I forgot to mention..

After the first couple of failures I downloaded the driver for my tablet. no effect what-so-ever. I've never heard of samsung kies though.. would that be useful in this situation?
 
It may be worth a go as Kies can do backups, transfer files, recover some non-working devices. It will also install drivers and we'll then know if it's a driver problem or not. You should be able to drag and drop quite easily and quickly. If you don't like Kies you can always uninstall it as it will leave the drivers in place
 
Samsung Kies installed..

I can't get it to connect to my tablet. it will either stay in "connecting" limbo or immediatley after plugging in the device say "connection lost".
 
Ok, uninstall Kies ,If you are using Windows can you see if the device is seen by hardware manager?right click, go to properties and uninstall device, reboot pc and reinstall Kies. Try txfer files
 
Having problems finding the device and being able to uninstall it. Attempting now and will reinstall Kies after restart..
 
I still couldn't get it to connect to my main PC. I installed Samsung Kies onto my laptop and had no problem linking up with my Tab. It says it's going to take 16 hours for a couple movies in a folder to transfer to my tablet. I guess i'll just wait and see if this works. Thanks for the help and I'll keep you informed.
 
So things are able to transfer on my Laptop. just not my desktop (wtf?!) I can live with that for now.. anyway thanks for the help!

P.S. --> It's still taking insane amounts of time to upload files (uploading star wars episode 1 took almost 13 hours... yeah...
 
Windows can be a pain sometimes. If using Kies to copy, try drag and drop in Windows and see if that improves things. Those times are still poor though:(
 
Just a further thought as you are now using your laptop, it might be quicker using wi-fi
