windows drivers help

Guest
So, I'm wanting to start on the process of rooting my phones and I'm trying to get the Helium back up app working, however, I cannot get windows to recognize my LG G3 phone. I've tried installing the drivers many times and it's still not working.

Suggestions?

I have not tried another computer yet, or another cable. The computer recognizes when the device is plugged in, but when I install the driver package, even if I tell windows to search in that folder, it can't find drivers.
Also, Helium is not syncing between my computer and phone.

Have you got drivers from other phones/devices installed? I've found Samsung drivers to be a royal pain and overriding driver installs for non-Samsung devices. USBDeview is a very useful tool for checking and uninstalling unwanted USB drivers that might be causing problems. Best bet might be to get rid of anything that looks to be phone/device related, restart PC and try connecting again to prompt driver install. There are some specific driver IDs to look for as culprits but I can't remember what they are off the top of my head.
