iSyncr causing slowdown?

I've seen several iterations of this question but need an answer a little more specific to my case. If anything maybe help somebody figure this out if they have the same problem.

Droid X...I had a few widgets on: Motorola = photo widget, gps/wifi/bluetooth toggles, weather, sticky notes, messages, calendar. Android = music and search. And the live "droid eye" wallpaper. I used iSyncr to sync my itunes to my droid. Apps wise I had a few of the usuals...facebook, sportscenter, NFL mobile, etc.

My droid was very slow...unlocking seemed to drag and after closing apps it seemed to have a rough time getting the home screen back (apps showing up). Took a while to load everything. I tried the usuals got a App killer (which sapped my battery and made things worse...said goodbye quick), turned off services, got rid of widgets, got rid of live wallpaper...finally I decided it was time to do a clean start. Formatted memory card and did a factory reset. Loading everything back on and it was working great. I then installed iSyncr and got my music on....and then things went back to slowville. Uninstalled iSyncr...problem stays. Reformatted memory card...no dice. Factory reset...success.

Now here is my question...does anybody have any experience in this? Is it iSyncr or the memory card?

I would really like to get my music on this thing but don't want it slowing down again. I tried DoubleTwist and that almost made me want to punch a baby...so don't suggest it because I work in a NICU. I am going to attempt getting my picture back on the SD card to see if that slows it down but I'm very hesitent to even try getting music unless somebody can tell me I'm stupid or a viable solution.
