I can't comment on the specific app, since (a) I don't know it and (b) the forum rules say that we don't assist with or discuss copyright violation, and since downloaders violate YouTube's terms of service they fall under that heading.

However, I suspect you get that warning if you try to install any apk file, so it's not telling you anything about that particular app. Of course apks can contain malware, so it is up to you to determine whether it is safe or not, but the boilerplate message is just reminding you of that, not telling you whether a particular app is or is not safe.

Depends on the site, is it an official distribution site for the app, e.g. the publisher's own website* or just some whatever site? If it's the latter...good luck!..you're on your own.

*VPN providers often distribute their APK apps from their own sites, for sideloading on devices that don't have the Google Play store, like in China.

If its not on the google play store.. it could be incredibly dangerous (and stealthy) and you would have no idea what it is (or isn't ) doing in the background.

So, If you have to ask the question.. the answer is don't
