it this possible ? Https and certificates

I can't belive it isn't possible to view a secured https web site that requires client to have a certificate (and private key) installed.

I can't belive this is not possible, yet I havent found a way to get this to work.

I tried the default webbrowser, Opera , firefox and firexox beta, but nothing to do.

it just isn't working.

what can I do ?

Get the certificate and install it in your browser. The entire point of HTTPS is to establish secured encrypted communication. This is done through public key encryption and certificates. The entire online commerce industry would collapse if it was easy to bypass.

Well that's exactly what I am trying to do ...

the first part is easy : get the certificate.
I have the certificate. I use it every day on my computer without a problem.

the second, is a little less obvious : install it.
how in the name of ... (you choose what) ... do I install the certificates on the browser.

there is an option in the parameters in 'location and security' to import a certificate from the usb shared space. I did that, I got the message saying my certificate is correctly imported. but that did not change anything in the browser.

The entire online commerce industry would collapse if it was easy to bypass.

I'll focus on my certificates for the moment... I'll bring the economy down later. ;-)

strange... Am I the only poor bastard trying to access a web page that requires a client certificate ???

no I'm having issues as well. I even had the site send me the key and it still won't install using the Certificate Installer. My problem also seems to be specific to my Skyrocket and Gingerbread. Older versions of Android don't seem to have any issues.
