It's A Screaming Red Temptation [Its live]

Just when I thought I'd bought my favorite smartphone in Black, it appears that Google's about to release one in Red!

Why does it have to be my favorite color, my favorite phone, all rolled into one.

If I can muster the temptation to resist, it'll be a personal record.

Conversely if I cave into temptation... well I think you get the picture.

A guy could most definitely have far worse vices :D

I will say though, it is interesting that the color actually wraps around the side this time.
 
IMO most people say that the Nexus 5 needs a case anyway in order to protect the glass in front and the camera lens in back, so if you are one who subscribes to that, then the logical move is just to get a black phone and find a nice red case for it.

Yeah, not too likely to lose/misplace your phone then...

I like Android, have a high regard for Nexus devices in general, 5 is my favorite number, and red is also my favorite color.

I have the white/off-white Nexus 5 though, and it wouldn't be worth it to me to try and switch them out. That, and I'm not really the kind of person that wants my phone to stand out too much to other people.

No, I'm content with my storm trooper and stock reddish live wallpaper, Sun Beam.
 
...so I guess that makes mine a shock trooper, and the red ones red guard?

Obviously the black one is Darth Vader. :D

Its cool...but just too Red for me. I'd like it for about a week or so and then would want to go back to black....

Its the RED speaker that would bug me. I'd keep thinking it was a notification light.

It took some getting used to with the white nexus

I could see that being an issue, but by default notifications are just white, though I do use Light Flow to color code mine based on what kind of notification I'm getting.

That aside, I like that they're matching the phone ear speaker to the cover. It's a nice touch.
 
i dislike how the sides of it are red also, I like how the white one is, white back and black sides.

White is still the G.O.A.T. Nexus 5

I find the RED speaker very compelling. It's a nice accent and helps a dolt like me figure out which end is which... ha.. ha.. ha..

If _that_ doesn't prove what an Android addict I am, nothing does. Oh, and YES, I caved into my love of Red and ordered one... :D

It's here!

Unpacked to find a texture on the back more like the white model, not the soft grippy back like my wonderful Black N5. The color? A friendly reminder that pictures can be misleading. Not to my liking, yet no harm, no foul. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I'm so happy with the terrific improvements in Google's customer service. One short easy call, resulted in an RMA and service as good as one gets with Apple.

Immediately repacked it, dropped off at FedEx for a swift return trip.

Thanks Google :D
 
One thing to mention the red on the phone is not red is really orange kinda like what others have said about the bumper case,wife likes it so no biggie.
