Help I've disabled "Automatic date and time", but why does date and time still get auto-changed?

In Settings/General/Date&Time, I've disabled auto-update of time by removing the checkmark ✔ from the "Automatic date and time" box.

I change the date to Jan 1, 2036. And the time to 01:00 AM.
Why does the date and time still revert to the current date and time (i.e. March 19 2017, 2:34 PM) ?

The auto-change doesn't happen right away. More like after a minute.

Your phone is still receiving NIST from the US Naval Observatory. It's built in like your computer.

Refusing automatic means local time changes like daylight savings, etc/ Some states like Arizona don't use Daylight Saving.

I don't know enough about the phone hardware, but I don't think you can.
You have to be on NIST network, and your phone is hard coded. You'd have to ask whoever made it.

I've got it on the computer, too. I have one offline computer that has a fit since the BIOS can't get the current time. I have to enter the time each time I use the computer.

Keep it in airplane mode, so it can't sync the correct time from anywhere? Unless you actually need it to be online. Although if it's online and using anything SSL, HTTPS, if the time and date are wrong, it won't connect anyway.
