J3 Missing contacts

I have a samsung J3 phone, recently restarted my phone and it has deleted my phone contacts from A to K, the rest are still on there, the contacts were stored on my sim card so cannot understand why, tried google sync but does not restore them. Anyone any idea why this has happened. Thanks

Your sim card may corrupt

Turn off your phone, take out the Sim, put it back in and try again

Tried taking out sim and putting back in, still same, prob corrupt sim card as suggested. Thanks
