JB 4.2.2 and Sky Go Incompatible

This is my first post:

Having enjoyed Sky Go for the last month or so on my N7 4.2.1 sadly that is no longer possible since updating to 4.2.2. Sky Go support were very quick to confirm that Sky Go is not compatible with 4.2.2. Is it possible Sky may update? Is reinstalling 4.2.1 an option? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.:(

That's all they said? Usually developers need some time when there is a new issue with an update. They are probably just frustrated with the amount of people contacting them when they are hard at work on a fix. You would think that any app worth it's salt would want to stay onboard with the Google flagship.

Not Sky, it took them long enough to make it compatible with JellyBean and various flagship devices. Forget about it if you're rooted too.

Are you sure? Looking at the change log I can't see anything new in 4.2.2 that would disable this App. Have you tried deleting it, re-loading and re starting the N7 - then do the Sky login again ?

I un-installed the app (SkyGo) re-installed it twice before contacting Sky each time the N7 came up with the same error message that login was not possible as SkyGo is incompatible with the device I was using. As I had been using the app immediately before updating to 4.2.2 I was unprepared for Sky to take the position they did. I spent a painful hour trying to get to the right Sky support individual eventually managing via their live chat. After three operators I eventually got someone who was categoric that 4.2.1 was supported but not 4.2.2 and Sky couldn't answer the question would it be in the future! It is so disappointing as I went for the N7 particularly for that feature that I use to watch golf when I'm away from home. I will launch a tirade of complaint towards Sky but it would appear I shouldn't hold my breath. Is it possible to go back to 4.2.1? Thanks for the interest.

Thanks for your thoughts. This morning I sent a polite complaint to Sky and received the following from their support centre:

Thank you for contacting the Sky help centre,

Following the release of the Android OS update 4.2.2 we have unfortunately found that Sky Go has stopped working on Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 devices and so we are looking to put a fix in place very soon to resolve this. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused whilst we look to fix this and we thank you for your patience during this time. Kind regards

Hopefully they might soon have a fix for this. Will let you know if there is any progress. Cheers

Gutted. This post made me check Sky Go on my N7 after updating to 4.2.2 and yep, doesn't work.

Sky Go is the app I use most of all.

I'm not particularly techie but is it possible to go back to 4.2.1?

If not, I hope Sky get a fix soon.

It seems the only way to go back to 4.2.1 is by rooting but SkyGo doesn't work on rooted machines!! Unless 4.2.2 is rolled out to other phones soon we could be in for a long wait unless Sky just need to do a minor change to the app?
